or nothing.

I can honestly say that being patient has always been a struggle for me.
Even when I was a little girl, my father labeled me as someone “who didn’t
have the patience to lick a sucker.” He’s right. I did always bite through
the tootsie pop lollipop but in my defense that is what they did in the
commercial, too.

I was chatting online with Amazon the other day about a problem. Not
unlike most working at home mothers I was trying to do 50 things at once
during the chat. The goal was to just get return information on a product
but I had to answer some chat questions first. I realized that every time
the chat window would show the rolling “ . . .” I would get excited thinking:
“Yeah, finally the last answer and I can get out of this chat and move on.”
I was wrong. The “ . . .” would come on and then nothing. No
comment from the other party. A little later another flashing “ . . . “
would show and again I would get excited thinking “yeah .. here comes
another answer . . this will be what I have been waiting for them to say!”
Again, no. They would just disappear.

I remembered at times when I have messaged back and forth with friends on Facebook messenger I had also seen the three dots alerting me that they
were typing a message and then it would go away until later.

AHA!

That means that they erased or backspaced what they were originally going to type. I think I have done that too to others. I’ve typed a message and then
before pressing enter or send I have backspaced to delete and it probably
looked like a tease on their end as well.

I call this situation “unsure messaging.” You think you know what you want
to say but you change your mind or vice versa. You think you know the
other person is sending you a message but then nothing comes right away.

What weird times we are living in. Uncertainty couldn’t be a more certain
thing in our everyday world as we live through this virus pandemic. We
get bits of information, some of it may be true, some may not. We deal
with fear, paranoia, and yet try to do the safe, and self-protective acts as
responsible people.

Do I wear a mask, does it actually help? Do I work from home or open
the office? Do I get takeout from a restaurant or do I just cook dinner for
the 50th time this week? Do I open this mail order package or let it sit or

saturate it with Lysol? Have I already had Covid19 or could I still get it?

Who knows. . . !!!!

It’s like living in a constant … (other party is typing) mode in online
chats.

We would like to see answers but are we going to get them and if we do,
when? Gotta go back to our faith on this one my friends. You got to have faith. I frankly don’t know how people can live without it.

As a Christian, there have been times in my life when I needed an answer
from God and I felt like I only got the … (God is still typing) in return. I
would wait for the answer, then the still typing message would disappear and nothing would show for direction ( metaphorically of course.) At other
times, I would wait for the answer to come through and when it did, it
wouldn’t necessarily be the answer I wanted to hear.

That’s how it works; but I am so glad it is that way despite the various
frustrations. God knows better than I and I can count on his love and

guidance even when he doesn’t seem to be answering and even when I
didn’t really care for his recommendations.

In our times of constant change, spastic uncertainty, and chaotic confusion,
God’s love is the one thing that does not change, nor is his unconditional
love uncertain. He gave his promise in his word. What do you have to
do? Just accept it. You don’t have to pray at certain shopping hours, you
don’t have to have a mask on. . . you don’t have to rinse in sanitizer . .
.just relax, enjoy his holy peace and know that no matter what he will help
you survive.
